Roope Mäenpää: Buoyancy for wind band

A combination of sound and aerodynamics, an idea behind the title Buoyancy is the lift off to flight, getting up from the ground and at the end landing on one’s home turf. The piece is to bring joy for young musicians in music making and finding new ways to produce sounds. Composed in spring 2019, Buoyancy is the mandatory work in 2020 edition of the national wind band championship competition in category C (young bands).
