Lotta Wennäkoski: Päärme (Hem) for piano trio

    ByKatja Lampela 04.05.202211.02.2023

Päärme (Hem) has a pulsative character, especially in the outer sections, and the idea of steady but erratically colourful stitching prompted the amusing and highly unusual word the composer chose for the title of the piece. The hemming in this trio is cheerfully brisk, though the result is not always even intended to be overneat…

    ByKatja Lampela 04.05.202206.03.2024

This publication includes two pieces by Harri Wessman for flute & guitar: Pan and the Nymph Pitys (1979) bears the first symptoms of Wessman’s later style, the texture being softly dissonant.
