This aria is part of the cycle Naisen rakkautta ja elämää (Love and Life of a Woman) designed for performance on stage together with the song cycle of the same name (Frauenliebe und -leben) by Robert Schumann. The words of the song are by Mirkka Rekola. Over the past couple of decades, Wennäkoski often thought about returning to the melancholy, emotional world of Minä odotin. The song did not lend itself to mere arrangement, but it did take shape very freely as a duo. Hence the title Vestige. Buy now
