Focus on Lara Poe

Lara Poe‘s music is rapidly gaining ground. The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra has focused on Lara Poe’s music in its 2024/25 season with performances of her Kaamos and Onerva Songs. Poe’s latest orchestral work Kun usva helisee (As the mists gently chime) will be premiered by the Finnish RSO at the Helsinki Musica Nova festival on 12 February 2025.
Another recent work is Laulut maaseudulta (Songs from the Countryside) for voice and orchestra which was premiered on 25 August at the 2024 London Proms by the orchestras of the Sibelius Academy and the Royal College of Music conducted by Sakari Oramo. The soprano soloist was Anu Komsi. After the Proms, the work travelled to the Helsinki Festival for a concert on 1 September.
