Helena Tulve appointed artistic planner of Summer Sounds Festival

Estonian composer Helena Tulve has been appointed Artistic Planner of Summer Sounds Festival.

One of Estonia’s leading contemporary composers, Tulve is known for her sensitive approach to sound, space and transformation, and will bring a distinctive artistic vision to the festival’s future programme.

After visiting this summer’s festival, Tulve was struck by the atmosphere and by an audience open to new musical experiences.

Planning for the 2027 programme will begin from this experience, with different ways of listening, the search for something new and possible echoes of Estonian musical and choral traditions among the key ideas.
