Mikko Sidoroff: Träumen for mixed choir

The poems of Mikko Sidoroff’s four-movement Träumen for mixed choir (2025) have been selected from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Träumen (Traumgekrönt, 1896), in which the master poet weaves together the great themes of life with touching sensitivity. In the first movement, a lonely soul seeks comfort in the silver-glimmering winter night. The second movement paints a picture of an old willow and a dilapidated cottage mourning their lost happiness. In the third movement, the yellow roses a boy gave to his beloved yesterday are today laid upon the boy’s grave.
