The violin duo Sic (2023–24) by Lotta Wennäkoski is a composition of notes, gestures and reactions between the two violinists, and it is inspired by and tailored for the wonderful and charismatic Tiksola duo, Minna Pensola and Antti Tikkanen. Besides the well-known meaning in Latin (Sic erat scriptum, Thus was it written), “to sic” also refers to inciting in English.
